Revolutionary/Evolutionary overthrow of the Old Order

01-12 to 2-22
The first occurrence of this influence was Election Day Nov 4th 2008.

We're in the second occurrence
It begins building on 1-12
The aspect peaks with the most intensity on 2/5
It wanes in intensity until 2-22

9/15/09
4/26/10
7/26/10

The tone that was set for the first occurrence was Obama's election to the Presidency of the United States. The themes as personified in McCain representing the old patriarchal order – traditional methods of government and Obama representing a coalition to make changes, uniting all peoples – an Aquarian revolution.

The power of the revolution / evolution is very powerful and the forces of the overthrow are great. The power of the tradition of the patriarchy is also very strong and steeped in the power of the organization. Part of the difficulty we are having with the sluggish economy is the opposition between these two forces – the old familiar ways and the new way.

These forces we can see everywhere outside us and if we are very astute we can see that they are inside us too. Think of that which frightens you. This may be difficult to do because we seek comfort in the world. We are not seeking fearful situations to overcome them because we are hiding from our fears. The very nature of hiding from our fears is the basis of neurosis. Inside each of us is the desire for order and comfort that comes from the familiar organizations providing the security that as westerners we've grown accustomed. Let's not rock the boat and let everything unfold, as it should. Clearly that kind of thinking is no longer working – why? We live in a new world with many changes on many levels.

In us are the forces for change. Those impulsive urges with us that want to overthrow the old order. Impulsivity arises from acting on spontaneous urges and is associated with youth. Older people are likely to be less impulsive because a certain order is maintained based on experimenting with dysfunctional patterns until a comfort zone is established and maintained. Then our brains get used to these patterns. For instance – one may know one needs to make a change but not do it for a variety of reasons including severe disruptions of the comfort zone.

There is a fundamental disagreement about the direction of the change. The volatility of the astrological aspect and the nature of the world could be said to have produced the latest war between the Hamas and Israel in Gaza for example.

However the conflict here in the United States between how to solve the economic crisis is more altruistically motivated from an Aquarian agenda. We now have a leader that is crafting a middle way through the mess. The pulse of the nation is hope coupled with a "wait and see" approach. This pass of the aspect (Saturn opposing Uranus) focuses on that we're all in it together and that we need experimental solutions that will bring us into a new world order.
